Summary
United Fire Group is seeking a Senior Marketing Representative in the state of Missouri to write profitable business. Desired area's of Missouri are St. Louis, Columbia and Springfield. Build and maintain strong working relationships with the agency force. Demonstrate strong analytical skills to evaluate new agency appointments for acceptability within company underwriting parameters. Visit insured’s and potential insured's place of business to better assess acceptability and aid agent in the placing of commercial accounts. Make regular agency calls to assess growth and profitability of agents in their territory. Assist agents in answering questions and answering requests. Promote good image for company and provide good service. Submit weekly call reports, itinerary and expense reports in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
* Build, maintain strong relationships with agents. Call on prospective agencies, investigate to determine acceptability and appoint new agencies within the territory’s State Marketing Plan. Promote growth and manage agencies in territory. * Keep apprised of what the competition is doing and disseminate information. Gather materials that other companies use. Assist underwriting in developing products that we can use to compete with, meet or beat the competition. * Review territory and schedule route where necessary. Schedule appointments. Report on agency visits. Answer correspondence from company and agencies. Make regularly scheduled agency calls by pre-planning for these visits. * Serve as liaison between company and agency to resolve problems and promote a positive working relationship. Monitor agency performance to recognize problems and recommend solutions. Assist agents in placing commercial accounts. * Inspect and evaluate prospective risks for agents. Underwrite, rate and quote when requested (field underwriting). Make sales calls with agents to explain and promote products. * Conduct Agency Reviews. * Choose site and timing of agency meetings. Work with team on topics to be covered. * Assist in scheduling Agency Advisory Board meetings, choosing the members, determining the agenda and planning the meetings. * Visit with agencies on past due accounts. Work with agencies to ensure they maintain a current pay status. * Demonstrate strong analytical skills * Present personal lines, surety and life products that we have to offer. * Maintain a current driver’s license. * Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* Four-year college degree or equivalent insurance experience. CIC or making significant progress towards CPCU designation preferred * Five to ten years marketing experience * Risk evaluation skills, solid insurance contract knowledge, effective communication skills, good negotiation skills and excellent human relations skills * Skilled communicator both verbal and written **An outstanding candidate will be able to:** * Build, maintain strong relationships with the agents * Demonstrate strong analytical skills * Visit insured’s and potential insured’s place of business * Assist agents in placing commercial accounts * Make regularly scheduled agency calls
