About Mohawk Valley Community College
Established in 1946 to help train and educate veterans returning from World War II, Mohawk Valley Community College has evolved to become New York State’s first community college, the largest college between Syracuse and Albany, and the region’s primary provider of college education and non-credit training.
Responsibilities
* Manages budget for Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) programs and insures compliance with budget requirements from private, federal, and state revenue streams; * Supervises and develops MEP staff; * Prepares and oversees reporting requirements to state and federal agencies; * Manages client outreach, marketing, and sales strategies; * Manages the connections of cyber cluster and connection to Unmanned Aerial Systems and other non-manufacturing activities; * Represents the MEP Center at state and national events/activities; * Develops and maintains a complex network of relationships and partnerships with community stake holders to foster a positive referral system and secure financial support for programs; * Strategically manages partnerships with organizations that complement/supplement the services of internal resources; * Oversees the integrity of program data; * Authorizes service proposals/contracts with client companies; * Manages the strategic direction and prioritization of development and implementation of new programs/services to ensure continued success; * Develops a comprehensive and strategic approach to generating revenue and allocating resources; * Other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice President of Workforce Development, Dean of Rome Campus.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field, a minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing, supervision, and mentoring, and/or team facilitation experience required. Strong verbal and written communication, and organizational skills, knowledge of state and federal safety regulations, working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook) required. Candidate must possess the ability to effectively learn and utilize databases and systems. * Must possess a valid driver’s license throughout employment as frequent travel is required. * MBA, Lean Six Sigma Methodology, consulting experience, experience with manufacturing industry equipment and regulations, ability to teach analytical tools and techniques, experience with economic development preferred.
