Summary
We are seeking a Facility Electrical Engineer for our expanding facility in LaPorte, IN. This position is responsible for providing engineering services to safely meet the locations business plan by providing engineering support to production, maintenance, and administrative departments to achieve plant goals.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate all phases of assigned projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations with Procurement, related bid meetings, equipment and facilities engineering/design, manufacturing, and installation through final start-up, acceptance and project closure. * Assist production, technical and maintenance with various types of equipment and process issues from an engineering perspective with key emphasis on maintaining and improving reliability and productivity of systems with specialized technical expertise in the application and use of automation technology for plant facilities and processes. * Develop and manage Capital and Major Expense projects related to Investment Casting manufacturing processes from concept through project completion and close-out phases. * Provide a higher level support for all PLC, HMI, and Robotic systems and programming for all PLC/Scada/Database Systems. * Maintain accurate records for all automation programs and all changes to these systems. * Propose and execute improvements to existing automation systems and processes. * Act as lead engineer for power distribution systems and associated system’s engineering for monthly and annual audit processes and maintenance activities. * Focus on overall safety of facilities equipment and processes.
Ideal Candidate
* BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related degree. * 3-5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment * PLC programming experience * HMI programming experience * Experience with Allen Bradley PLC & RSLogix * Experience with Wonderware * Knowledge of Electrical distribution systems for voltage 13.8KV and below * Proficient user of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical * Good verbal & written communication skills, PC & analytical skills * Experience with industrial robots, Motoman or other * Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E and NFPA 79 * Previous experience with casting technologies including induction melting systems * Previous experience with resistive heating systems * Functional understanding of industrial vacuum systems * Experience with new equipment installations and start-ups * Strong communications skills, proficient in Microsoft Office-Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project. * Must work well in a team environment and possess good leadership skills * Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems in a diverse industrial environment * Experience with project management
