Summary
The IT Support Technician is responsible for supporting the day to day telecommunications infrastructure and technical needs. This position will also assist with the setup, troubleshooting, and take down for storage of computer equipment and technology for shows, events, and concerts for the arena.
Responsibilities
* Support day to day operational needs. * Vendor relations and partnering of IT computer and server needs. * Manage priorities of IT technology between the user departments to evaluate new technologies. * Assist with the setup and support of equipment for all of the arena concerts, shows, and sports events. * Assist with relocating computer equipment throughout the building. * Experience with hardware setup and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows XP & Windows 7 operating systems as well as Mac OS. * PC hardware configurations to include the installation and troubleshooting of components during setup of games hours before the actual game. * Respond to Virus, Malware and various security threats while implementing preventative measures to minimize risk. * General knowledge of LANs, WANs and Wireless Networks. * Provide support for various computer and video related tasks. * Assist media and staff at the event with issues connecting to wired and wireless networks. * Understanding of network data, serial and video cabling. * Work under direction of the Information Technology staff. * Prioritize installation of customer networks for events and shows. Assist and support other team members in resolving any operation issues that impact clients. Work with various 3rd parties to facilitate, manage and execute any special event IT requirements. * Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, accurate work within designated deadlines. * Ability and internal drive to demonstrate a positive, winning attitude and a strong work ethic in the performance of all job responsibilities. Successfully manage time and technical responsibilities, set accurate expectations and meet deliverable deadlines while working in a team and information-sharing environment. * Performs all other job related duties as requested.
Ideal Candidate
* Associates degree in Computer Information Systems or related field or equivalent education and experience. * At least 1 year of experience in telecommunications infrastructure or related field. * Ability to troubleshoot and solve hardware and software issues in a timely manner. * Ability to take direction and work with a very minimum amount of supervision. * Ability to adapt to fast changing tasks that come up. * Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange. * Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems. * Must exhibit good understanding of a large entertainment venue environment and how the business is affected by network changes. * Must be knowledgeable of 24x7 operations. * On-call duty, personal vehicle for Inter property travel required and reliable transportation. * Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships at all levels across the organization and externally. * Strong cognitive understanding and development of policy and procedures. * Excellent customer service skills. * Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts. * Professional appearance and demeanor. * Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. * High school diploma or equivalent. * Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms. * Associates degree in Computer Information Systems or related field plus 2 years of experience. (Experience can be substituted for education). * Flexible scheduling. * Working knowledge of Windows and Macintosh operating systems. * Ability to diagnose problems and resolve issues in a timely matter. * CompTIA A+ / CompTIA Network+ / CompTIA Security+ / CCNA / CCNP. * General knowledge in networks to include basic TCP/IP understanding, DNS and DHCP. * General knowledge of networking, serial communications, video and broadcast technology. * Previous experience in a similar resort setting.
