Summary
The Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Services is responsible for administering, building, troubleshooting, and maintaining internal and external production systems. The position requires a technical background along with strong interpersonal skills and problem solving abilities. It includes a wide range of challenges in assisting day-to-day with technical issues, inter-personal communication and project related tasks.
Responsibilities
* Contributes to the team effort in the administration and troubleshooting of the Citrix environment * As a member of the Citrix team, provide user support for the Citrix environment * Helps document solutions, including build and maintenance plans * Installs new software releases and system upgrades; evaluates and installs patches; and resolves software-related problems * Identifies and resolves errors or problems with the existing environment * Contributes to a healthy interpersonal and team-oriented environment * Is customer service minded and develops and maintains cordial, effective partnerships with business area and other Information Technology and Services employees * Ensures that LifePoint best practices are followed for the delivery, implementation and maintenance of systems by employees and contractors
Ideal Candidate
The position requires an individual with a strong background administering, building and troubleshooting Microsoft client/server environments. The candidate should possess the following technical skills; * Extensive Microsoft server knowledge (Expert Level Preferred) * Strong working knowledge of MS Windows server OSs in a virtualized environment * Citrix XenApp experience is a plus * Citrix Certifications a plus * Microsoft Certifications a plus * Thin/Zero client experience a plus * Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory required * Understanding of Microsoft Distributed File System * Experience with DHCP/DNS concepts and implementations * Basic VMware vSphere experience * Understanding of basic network and datacenter concepts * Strong documentation and reporting skills * PowerShell * VB Scripting * The position requires an individual with mid-level experience with Enterprise Microsoft client/server environments with some experience administering virtualized environments using Citrix and/or vSphere. * 5+ years of administration and implementation of Microsoft client/server environments * Familiarity and experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Server Operating Systems, DHCP/DNS, server/client virtualization and powershell/VB scripting * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Solid Microsoft client/server administration skills * Knowledge of virtualized client/server environments with vSphere or Citrix * Associate Degree in Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field (Industry experience can be substituted for degree) * Excellent communication skills and builds relationships with other team members * This job description in no way states or implies that the key accountabilities above are the only ones being performed by the individual(s) with this job description.
