Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for leadership of the operations of the Toledo Distribution Center (TDC). The Operations Manager is responsible for the quantity and quality of work performed at the DC to fulfill customer and transfer orders and to support production operations. This person will also assist DC Manager in the achievement of goals around operation/capital budgets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Responsibilities
* Responsible for day to day operations of the Toledo Distribution Center * Provide daily direction to DC Supervisors, supporting staff, and hourly workforce in order to safely meet daily demand * Analyze and understand all aspects of the Toledo Distribution Center including operational knowledge, process/product/information flow, customer (internal and external) requirements, supplier capacity and capabilities, and Distribution Center productivity and quality standards * Assist DC Manager in creating and executing continuous improvement projects based on the DCs current state progressing toward the ideal state using data and Lean tools, as well as a variety of other tasks * Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports * Ensure and maintain a safe working environment
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree a plus * Lean Champion Certification preferred * Five (5) years Leadership experience in a Distribution Center * A track record of continuous improvement in reducing operating expense and improving safety, inventory accuracy and customer service * Strong leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills with salaried personal at all levels of the organization and with hourly employees * Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Labor Management Systems (LM), and Yard Management Systems (YMS) * Experience working with bargaining units
