Summary
We are looking for a candidate who is dynamic, highly motivated, reliable and who understands and appreciates the importance of a team effort.
Responsibilities
* Day-to-day managerial, financial and commercial responsibility for all ocean activities conducted within the Miami branch office. * The General Manager, Miami will implement company policies along with Corporate Management, work closely with the Corporate Product Managers in executing planned strategies, educate and motivate staff to further enhance the quality of our products, be responsible for the branch’s P&L, partake in commercial activities including, but not limited to, visiting new and existing customers and participate in local industry sponsored functions and community events.
Ideal Candidate
* A minimum of 3 branch level managerial experience, plus 3-5 years prior hands-on operational and/or commercial development experience required, preferably from a NVOCC background, but a candidate with a VOCC or freight forwarder background may also apply. * Candidate must be experienced in managing a staff of 10+. * Candidate must be knowledgeable in all aspects of daily operations, customer service and documentation, pertaining to ocean export LCL. * Candidate must be knowledgeable of all local and international governmental, Customs, security, carrier and hazardous cargo regulations. * Candidate must be experienced in staff training, supervision, motivation and retention. * Candidate must be experienced with general accounting principles, be able to formulate and analyze budgets, KPI, rate guidelines and profit and loss statements. * Candidate must be experienced in commercial development and must be proficient in contracts and rates negotiation. Candidate must also be experienced with, and have a proven track record in the development of new trade lanes and services. * A Bachelors’ Degree in Transportation Management, International Business or a related study is preferred, but not required. * Candidate must have excellent verbal and written English skills; As well as strong communication, organizational, and managerial skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required. * Candidate must be detailed oriented and enjoy a fast paced, multi-tasking, customer service minded environment
