Summary
Provides strategic Human Resources leadership and partnership to the Western Region SC Manufacturing plants. Partners with the leadership team in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating HR activities. Leads and coordinates efforts in the Region related to positive employee relations and takes a proactive role in shaping the plant environment to encourage continuous improvement and driving world class results in cost, quality, service, people, and environment.
Responsibilities
* Leads initiatives to foster positive employee relations, an engaged workforce, a positive culture, and effective communication throughout the plant by working collaboratively with leaders and hourly employees. * Leads Best Talent Survey Process at the local level and ensures robust action plans are created and executed * Owns the development, application, and interpretation of policies and practices and ensures compliance with all applicable laws * Coaches leaders on how to effectively resolve employee relations issues * Partners with plant leadership to consistently and fairly apply disciplinary actions and improvement plans * Responds to employee complaints by leading investigations, researching issues, managing Connect Call responses, and serves as a contact person with outside agencies * Builds a working partnership with the Director of Employee and Labor Relations and with Corporate Legal Counsel. Ideal Candidate
**Experience-Education (Required)** * Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, or related field. Master’s degree a plus * Seeking minimum of 10 years’ experience with steady progression in HR Management with at least 3 plus years of Multi-state/Multi-location experience. * Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Union environment * 3 plus years’ experience in current California Labor Relations and Policies * Proven ability to effectively and respectfully work with individuals at varying levels within an organization * 5 plus years’ experience in Fortune 500 companies that adhere to a high hiring standard. **Competencies - Skills (Required)** * Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring direct reports and leading large HR teams with talented HR professionals * Proven ability to successfully provide relevant and immediate feedback in a fast-paced and complex environment * Demonstrated ability to effectively and respectfully work with individuals at varying levels within an organization * Excellent problem solver with a proven track record of driving results * Able to create, analyze, report and manipulate data as it relates to HR metrics * Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills * Responsible for working with recruitment partners (both internal and external) in developing search strategies, candidate identification & selection and successful on boarding * Plays a key leadership role in representing the Company in collective bargaining, grievance handling, arbitrations and other union activities * Ability to build trust and positively influence outcomes * Understands, interprets, provides guidance on, and ensures compliance with the terms of the labor agreement **Travel:** * Ability to travel up to 50% of the time when required **Experience – Education (Preferred)** * Advanced degree from a top tier graduate school. (MBA or Masters in HRM preferred) * Strongly prefer SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR or PHR **Competencies – Skills (Preferred)** * Union Labor Negotiation * Ability to build strategic partnerships with operations in all levels * Ability to build and promote a culture that emphasizes Employee engagement and ownership in a results orientated environment
