Responsibilities
* Organizes and prioritizes the day-to-day activities of the department related to the monitoring and overall execution of merchandise testing, ISTA transit testing and inspection issues and ensures rapid resolution. * Approves, rejects, waives or requests additional testing of merchandise as well as seeking waiver approval, when necessary, from managers outside of QC. * Responsible for the management and maintenance of all testing activities and issues through use of the third party database, including the development of new functionality on the updated releases to streamline and automate tasks and communications. * Oversees and manages all non-routine additional merchandise testing, analysis and inspection associated with testing issue follow-up as well as store, customer and industry/regulatory environment driven issues. * Reviews routinely published reports to ensure completeness and accuracy. * Ensures the timely creation and distribution of crucial reports and communications regarding merchandise testing and inspection issues. * Routinely communicates and works with various internal departments, vendors and third party testing partners. * Assists in the technical development of protocols. * Monitors and manages the administration, implementation and communication of new and/or revised protocols to ensure timely review, approval and posting on the QC System in accordance with business needs. * Works closely with labs to ensure company protocols are constantly updated and consistent with best-in-class retailer. * Monitors changing federal and state regulations to ensure timely updating of company protocols, and communicates in a timely manner with affected stakeholders to ensure compliance with future purchasing is realized. * Seeks to provide continuous improvement for new strategic initiatives, both before and after launch implementation.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or other technical discipline or equivalent experience required. Degree in science, engineering or other technical discipline preferred. * Minimum of 5 years' experience with testing and/or Quality Control or Quality Assurance principles required. * Prior supervisory experience preferred. * Experience within a technical setting such as a laboratory, manufacturing, or retail Quality Control or Quality Assurance preferred. * Strong systems skills including advanced Microsoft Excel, a basic proficiency in all other MS Office suite applications and the ability to learn other complex proprietary platforms as well as business integration applications required. * SAP experience preferred. * Excellent conflict resolution, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills required.
