Summary
The Associate Product Manager will work under the direction of the Director of Product Development to develop new items, assortments etc. as related to Product lines/Projects. This includes researching /development of new end uses, items, color and providing relevant information for the Craft, Trimmings and Sewing related markets. This position will be based in our Antioch, TN office.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the product development process from concept through introduction. - Develop visual concept boards using swipe art and samples as necessary - Conduct trend research via store visits, trade publications, consumer interaction, trade shows and web site monitoring. - Oversee the inputting of all pertinent product data for fact sheets and development line list spreadsheets. - Work closely with the Merchandising Manager on planograms and merchandising for freshness & space maximization. - Partner with vendors overseas to request samples, reference materials, pricing and provide needed supplies to ensure a timely and high quality delivery as needed. - Manage the flow and approvals of product samples. - Create sample mock ups and comps for sales meetings and approval reviews. - Provide support and information for key account programs, promotions and sales calls. - Assist in the coordination of cross-functional team activities. - Follow through on any quality control issues with Quality Assurance & Planners. - Archive products, projects, samples and swatches as needed. - Proof packaging. - Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 2- 3 years’ experience working in a creative, consumer product environment. - Prior experience in product management, marketing, retail trade, or Product life cycle preferred. - Proficient in MS Office – Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. - Experience working with Photoshop a plus. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong organizational, time management skills - Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
