Operator

PQ Corporation is a leading global producer of silicate, zeolite, and other performance materials serving the detergent, pulp and paper, chemical, petroleum, catalyst, water treatment, construction, and beverage markets. Our chemical products are complemented by those of our former subsidiary Potters Industries, a leading producer of engineered glass materials serving the highway safety, polymer additive, metal finishing, and conductive particle markets.

* Operate in compliance with all health, safetyand environmental rules and regulations. * Operate and control mechanical equipment. * Interface with computer-automated systems, material handling and monitoring of quality control. * Monitor the process through manual and/or automated control panel adjustments. * Respond to signals and alarms according to established procedures. * Perform lab testing for in-process and finished products. * Control production from formation to packaging. * Document test resuls and observations. * Responsible for loading and unloading of trucks. * Create bills of lading and certificates of analysis for shipments. * Communicate process information and issues with other production operators, maintenance and management. * Enter data into the computerized production system * Perform routine maintenance and assist the maintenance mechanic.

* High school diploma required. Some college preferred. * Manufacturing experience required as well as willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends as required. * Experience with PLC processes, Microsoft Excel, SAP and Statistical Process Control. * Experience using control charts. * Able to demonstrate analystical and troubleshooting skills. * Demonstrate strong aptitude for understanding production processes. * Must be able to multi-task in a team-oriented environment. * Fork Truck and Stationary Engineer license is preferred. * Chemical industry experience and/or technical training is a plus.
