Responsibilities
* Coordinate activities with Sales, Manufacturing and Quality departments to assure quality control and shipping schedules to best meet our customers’ requirement. * Plans, organizes and supervises the delivery function ensuring timely, efficient, and friendly service. * Oversees shipping activities to ensure accuracy and quality of shipments. * Be responsible for positive relationships with customer base and building rapport between employees and customers. * Provides training, supervision and guidance to shipping personnel (i.e.bulkloaders) to ensure quality and service standards are met. * Be responsible for training employees on proper work practices, company policy and safety regulations. * Be responsible for the quality and efficiency of the work being done. * Maintains proper housekeeping standards. * Maintains a high level of supervision of departmental activities and employees. * Handle Union grievances and discipline of employees. * Supervise maintenance and general repairs of all equipment within the department. * Responsible for keeping all inventories in shipping department. * Perform proper record keeping. * Full understanding of Labor Agreement. **Specialized knowledge required for this position:** * Ability to make timely, critical decisions often under stress. * Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills. * Problem solving and analytical skills. * Convey information clearly and effectively through informal and formal communications. * Demonstrate commitment and ability to work in a Total Quality Environment.
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of a high school diploma. College degree or Technical School equivalent preferred. * Background in Cement or Shipping industry. * Computer skills and competency in SAP, Windows, Excel and Word required.
