Responsibilities
The consultant is a role critical to the growth of the Marketing Productivity Practice at IRI and will oversee the delivery of key client engagements in the Marketing Productivity domain, partnering with Commercial leaders in driving growth across a portfolio of strategic accounts. An understanding of analytic methodologies pertaining to marketing measurement is essential, with particular focus on Marketing Mix Modeling, Media Analytics, Brand Equity Analytics and customer/CRM analytics. While the Principal is not a hands-on, data crunching or modeling role, the ability to “roll up sleeves” and get into data/models on occasion is valuable in this role. Even more critical is the ability to take very technical content, distil key business insights and articulate to non-technical audiences. To that end, the role involves some degree of direct client engagement, in partnership with the Commercial leaders. At his/her disposal will be IRI’s unparalleled Liquid Data platform and complete access to a constantly expanding ecosystem of data, the world’s largest set of data related to household level consumer behavior. Data includes proprietary access to POS, FSP, Rentrak, Household Panel, Experian, Kantar Retail and comScore. In order to meet the practice objectives, the role will also have shared responsibility with the practice leader to produce high quality thought leadership and industry presentations based on cutting edge client engagements. The Practice has a revenue goal that all senior members of the Practice take joint responsibility to deliver. While activities will vary, the Principal can expect to spend his/her time as follows: 50% overseeing delivery of client insights via Consultants the Principal will manage, 30% directly managing 1-2 key engagements, 10% on Thought Leadership and Innovation and 10% administrative/cross-practice alignment. Collaboration is central to the Principal’s success. Internally, the Principal can expect to work with the broader Analytics & Consulting team, Consumer & Shopper Insights, Client Insights & Delivery, New Business, Media Center of Excellence, Technology and Product Management. Externally, the Principal will work with relevance at all levels up to the C-Suite and across the key functions of Market Research, Marketing, Sales, Shopper Insights, Category Management, Strategy, and Brand Management. While achieving revenue goals is essential, success is equally driven by securing and building upon long-term client relationships.
