International Paper (India) Private Limited produces writing, printing and copier papers at its two manufacturing units in Andhra Pradesh, which have a total paper production capacity of 240,000 metric tons per year.
Summary
The Financial Analyst – International Accounting position has primary responsibility and key role to maintain and work closely with the general ledger for several foreign holding companies on all accounting matters including the review and analysis of the balance sheet, income statement, review and assistance with U.S. GAAP accounting. This position also performs U.S. GAAP reviews of other subsidiaries and actively supports the IFRS project.
Responsibilities
- Subsidiary Accounting – Maintains subsidiary ledgers for certain Non-US holding companies and special purpose entities. Handles local audits and filings. - Transaction analysis and International Accounting support - Assists in the analysis of non standard transactions - Performs accounting reviews of local to U.S. GAAP entries under the Global Reconciliation tool (GRT) for selected Non-U.S. locations. - Support IFRS project - Active participation in the IFRS conversion process for IP Container Holding Spain. - Participation on Balance Sheet reviews for selected locations to ensure foreign locations compliance with U.S. GAAP and IP financial policies. Follow up for resolution of identified issues. - Assists with the financial reporting of Brazil segment results and its performance adjustments. - Remains abreast of IP financials policies as necessary and changes in practices. - Special projects – Participates in various accounting projects and other team assignments. - Training – develops training materials and teaches selected topics. **Key Challenges:** - Remains abreast of changes in U.S. and foreign accounting practices. - Remain aware of changes within the environment. - This position interacts directly with Controllers of different Non-US locations, Treasury and reporting groups as well as IP Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting and IP Corporate Tax. - Maintaining a working knowledge of U.S. accounting, international accounting and local accounting policies and practices is important. - Key to the position is maintaining open communication and providing information to the appropriate parties in a timely manner. - Good working knowledge of company’s financial reporting, SAP (GL Module) and Hyperion reporting systems is important to this job.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor degree Accounting or related field of study. - Minimum 3 year related experience. - Must be proficient in Excel. - Exceptional written and oral communication skills. - Experience with SAP and Hyperion preferred. - CPA certification and/or Master preferred. **Key Competencies:** - Integrity and Trust - Learning on the fly - Functional technical skills - Problem solving - Action oriented - Planning and Organizing - Drive for results - Costumer focus - Communication skills (written and verbal) - Interpersonal skills
