Guggenheim Investments (GI) is seeking to hire a seasoned accounting professional to Guggenheim Partners Investment Management Holdings, LLC. This individual will be responsible for legal entity accounting including all aspects of legal entity accounting and financial reporting, as well as quarterly reporting and annual audits. This individual will assist in the compliance with regulatory, US GAAP and evaluation of new accounting standards. This individual will also assist GI Financial Controller in the timely and accurate accounting and reporting for certain GI legal entities. The position will be located in New York but will work closely with the accounting and reporting teams in Chicago.
- Prepare and reconcile general ledger transactions (includes cash activity, accruals, intercompany account activity)
- Timely completion of the general ledger close for assigned legal entities at month end
- Variance analysis on an account level basis and legal entity level
- Perform monthly account reconciliations for assigned legal entities
- Preparation of internal memos to document significant transactions as needed, maintenance of all required governing documents for assigned businesses
- Work closely with Tax, Treasury, and Financial Planning & Analysis departments as needed
- Assist with Corporate audit tasks
- Special requests/projects as they arise
- Research accounting literature to assist in determining proper accounting treatment for financial transactions
- Build and maintain strong working partnerships with different teams in GI
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-4 years corporate accounting or audit experience
- Detail-oriented, hands-on, analytical, commitment to highly accurate quality work product; above average computer proficiency, particularly excel
- Strong work commitment and personal ownership of assigned tasks
- Superior organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments a must
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and thoughtfully and demonstrate leadership in challenging or time sensitive situations.
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs and priorities of a dynamic growth environment
- Assertive and proactive attitude toward assignments and in managing business relationships
- Capable of handling new and unfamiliar issues and situations
- Excellent work ethic and ability to multitask
- CPA or Chartered Accountant certification
- Ability to roll up sleeves and begin immediately
- Experience with financial services businesses a plus
- Monthly/annual close experience with GL systems a plus
- Experience with Hyperion software a plus
