Summary
The GL Accountant supports the Accounting Manager with the monthly financial statement close and reporting process, ensures the accurate, complete, and timely reporting of all monthly financial information, and supports M&A integrations.
Responsibilities
* Prepares various monthly reconciliations ensuring accuracy in balance sheet accounts. * Prepares various monthly journal entries. * Juggles multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast paced environment. * Assists in the development and/or enhancement of policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporate accounting function and organization. * Contributes to the successful completion of quarterly reviews and annual audits. * Assists in the coordination of the company’s internal audit program, including testing of global control processes. * Collaborates with various functional departments as appropriate. * Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required. * Collaborates with Finance department to continue to develop world class processes and drives faster monthly and quarterly financial statement close and internal reporting process.
Ideal Candidate
**Ideal Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance plus at least one year of related experience. * Strong computer proficiency (Excel). * Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls. * Ability to work independently and productively in a dynamic environment, as well as being a solutions-oriented team player. * Can work well in a team environment with the willingness to step out of the box to assist the financial group to meet any challenges for the group. * Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. * Ability to process large amounts of information with speed and accuracy. * Ability to balance multiple tasks or projects simultaneously. * Self-motivated, constantly trying to seek a better solution. * Ability to multitask and prioritize. * Good organizational skills. **Ancillary Qualifications:** * Experience with a robust GL package, such as Oracle, Hyperion, SAP, etc. * CPA or public accounting experience. **Other important information about this position:** * This position is typically based in a ProQuest office location and may be appropriate for full or partial remote work, subject to approval. * Occasional travel may be required. * This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours. * Every position requires certain physical capabilities.
