Summary
Provides exceptional quality typing and transcription to Document Services customers, solving routine customer service issues.
Responsibilities
* Maintains production quality for spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and format. Reviews own output prior to proofing by Senior Document Specialists and/or Team Leader. * Attends New Agent School and Claim Refresher Classes in order to gain experience in both areas for resolving internal customer-related issues. Learns to format and design various documents, including letters, memos, reports, complex statistical projects, confidential materials and large mail merge projects. Files completed documents to appropriate directory. * Trains on the use of WinScribe in order to transcribe digital voice recordings for dictation and claim statements. * Maintains and reports work hours keeping Team Leader informed of any needed time out from assigned work schedule. Follows Corporate Technology guidelines when reporting major system/equipment problems for resolution. Maintains production measurement and other details of work produced, entering daily jobs into a spreadsheet. * Gains an understanding of document workflows as they pertain to the use of ImageRight. * Attends occasional Company meetings as well as periodic meetings involving Remote Transcriptionists during work hours. * Learns other technical and administrative duties as assigned by Team Leader and/or Senior Document Specialists. May be required to work on special projects as outlined by Team Leader. * Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Ideal Candidate
* Education: Requires a High School diploma or GED equivalent. * Experience: Previous administrative office experience a plus, but not required. * Knowledge / Skills: * Requires minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute. Will be expected to complete any required testing and test scores must meet the minimum established standards for this job. * Requires exceptional English, grammar, punctuation and spelling skills to proof and edit own work and transition into proofing work produced by Remote Transcriptionists and/or other Document Specialists. Must successfully pass test of grammar, punctuation and spelling administered by Human Resources Department. * Requires strong attention to detail and accuracy as errors could result in inaccuracies in records or reports as well as loss of time and money. * Requires the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles to obtain the desired effect. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and vendors. * Requires previous Microsoft Word experience with extensive experience in Microsoft Office Suite and digital transcription software. Will be expected to learn and retain working knowledge of several types of equipment and software (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Outlook; and various Company software applications). * Must be able to effectively utilize computer systems and digital transcriptions software required for essential job functions. Must have physical capability of using keyboard on a regular basis. Would be required to perform ergonomic exercises. * Must be proactive, reliable and accountable self-starter with the ability to work independently without direct supervision. Works well under pressure and meets regular reporting deadlines from all levels of management with varying workloads. Ability to learn new industry, company, product, or technical knowledge quickly and efficiently.
