Summary
Working under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Communications & Marketing leads and coordinates efforts to promote the company’s image internally and externally, through print and broadcast media, special events, and/or analyst briefings and through various marketing activities. This position will also help build a strategy and vision around the way we engage and connect our employees across the organization, and will work closely with cross-functional groups such as Human Resources, IT, Facilities, Legal, and individual business units to find creative ways to make team members in all offices feel connected and a valued part of the ORIX culture through events, meetings, and in other creative ways.
Responsibilities
* Serves as a communications “counselor and advisor” to executive leadership and senior managers throughout the organization, to assist in recognizing internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them. * Partners with business unit leaders to drive the development of overall marketing strategies to support business priorities. * Develops PR strategies and identifies press opportunities; compiles and maintains media contact lists. * Serves as lead point person for media interactions, prepares talking points, speeches, presentations and other supporting materials as needed. Distributes press releases and ensures posting on company web sites, as appropriate. * Oversees design and/or copyedits of marketing materials (e.g. flyers, posters, brochures, blast email templates, newsletters, video scripts, and promotional “swag”). * Administers company web site content management and ongoing maintenance. * Manages major organization communications, including the intranet, and assists with internal marketing campaigns and messaging. Develops and ensures standardization of company email signatures, email templates, and presentation slides across the organization. * Develops and maintains a social media strategy to increase brand awareness and cultivate and enhance relationships with targeted audiences across all ORIX USA lines of business. * Manages all aspects of company promotional events, including event strategy and objectives, new event ideas, planning, execution and event recaps. * Assists in branding and marketing ORIX University – a thought leadership initiative to bring informed subject matter experts and other trusted specialists into the workplace to educate and inspire ORIX employees with innovative ideas. * Helps communicate and integrate organization’s vision and values throughout the organization. * Tracks, analyzes, and reports on marketing metrics, including but not limited to online and social media activity. * Initiates changes to ORIX’s communications and marketing efforts, both internally and externally, to realign, as needed, for changes that occur in the company’s business strategies and within the marketing industry as a whole. * Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business administration, or a related field from accredited four-year university required; advanced degree would be considered a plus. * Demonstrated experience managing a comprehensive communications and marketing program, with at least 10 years of professional experience in a corporate environment, preferably in the financial services industry. * Proven marketing research capabilities, including target identification, engagement, negotiating skills, and relationship development. * Demonstrated success integrating and leveraging social media as a component of a successful marketing and communications program. * Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with success as an approachable and influential advisor at all levels of an organization. * Proven creative writing skills, including proper spelling and grammatical skills and usage. * Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments, and to meet critical and established deadlines. Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. * Professional business image and superb command of the English language, both verbally and in writing (spelling, grammar, and punctuation). * Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and frequent interruptions, and to change direction on short notice.
