Summary
Hitachi Consulting is looking for an occupational safety and health professional that has a proven track record of aptitude and success in the consulting and safety and health fields.
Responsibilities
The position requires a broad range of skills and the ability to step into different roles depending on the size and scope of an engagement. Typical examples of position tasks include but are not limited to conducting safety program audits and evaluations, providing regulatory-based technical assistance, and assisting clients to develop, implement, and train on safety programs and management systems.
Ideal Candidate
**Required** * Current certification as a Certified Safety Professional and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist. * At least ten years of occupational safety and health consulting experience for public sector or commercial organizations. Specific expertise in interpreting occupational safety and health standards, auditing against regulations, and advising clients on how best to implement a comprehensive safety program. * Knowledge of safety management system standards and relevant key performance indicators (KPIs). * Demonstrated team-building and practice development success. * At least two years of working knowledge and/or experience related to sustainability and environmental management. * Minimum of 10 years of equivalent consulting experience required. * Bachelor’s Degree **Additional Skills** * Demonstrates success in performing work and managing complex and/or large consulting projects. * Experience in surveying (auditing) facilities and operations to determine compliance with safety and fire standards (OSHA 29 CFR 1910, 1926) and National Fire Protection Association and International Fire Code standards. * Experience defining leading and lagging KPIs for occupational safety programs and managing metrics to achieve organizational goals. * Training course development and instruction on occupational safety and health topics. * Biosafety and/or biopharmaceutical experience and credentials preferred. * Communication skills: strong presentation/communication/facilitation skills (oral and written). * Works well with teams or in a team environment, with the ability to work independently while keeping team members and managers sufficiently informed. * Strong consulting skills, including business development skills. * Skilled in building relationships with clients and colleagues and in practice development activities. * Administration skills, such as electronic or online file management, time/expense reporting, budget tracking, and project management. * Knowledge and/or experience related to laboratory safety and health hazards and mitigation measures.
