Summary
We are seeking a Regional Sales Manager Midwest to play a critical role in driving Home Market Foods' sales in the midwestern region. This role is responsible for ensuring distribution, pricing, placement, and merchandising objectives are flawlessly executed at both the store and retail level for their assigned customer base. Regional Sales Managers are responsible for working closely with their Food Brokers of record to ensure all retail objectives are met in assigned stores. The position is home-based and the employee may reside any where in the midwest, as long as within proximity to a major airport.
Responsibilities
* Manages the company's customer base and appointed Food Brokers in the assigned area of geographical responsibility * Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating business plans for key customers * Leads and directs the effort to penetrate & develop key customer contacts and relationships, resulting in successful achievement of the Company's strategic goals & objectives * Identify business-building opportunities, develop a plan that includes new items & merchandising, implement the plan, and monitoring progress against the plan * Conducts retail store audits, notes observations, and works with their Food Broker retail team on * corrective actions * Develop assigned Food Brokers in the areas of planning, execution, implementation, evaluation, business plan tracking, reporting, and retail implementation & administration for customers * Track and analyze business trends on a daily/weekly/monthly basis, including volume achievement, trade spending, market share development, margin mix and other corporate goals * Communicate policies and procedures to Food Brokers and customers * Communicate marketplace activities to corporate headquarters on a regular basis * Actively participate in industry and customer initiatives, including trade and food shows * Interact with key national office personnel in the areas of forecasting, new item program development, trade spending program development, and reporting
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of a BA/BS in a business related field * Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in consumer products sales * Knowledge of and key account contacts in the retail trade channel * Experience in direct sales management and key account management * Experience in the management of Food Brokers * Ability to analyze and/or utilize syndicated (IRI) in the development of sales presentations * Ability to travel 50-75% of the time
