Senior Product Marketing Manager

Reporting to the Executive Director of Product Marketing, Verve’s Product Marketing Manager is responsible for the outbound marketing activities of Verve products. This individual crafts the messaging and positioning for those products and is responsible for Sales trainings. They conceive and develop innovative marketing programs that drive demand, with an attention to detail and an eye for quality. As the main liaison between Sales and Product/Tech, the Product Marketing team’s focus is to effectively communicate the Verve product and to empower the sales team to exceed revenue targets and growth objectives.
Positioning: Messaging, Content and Documentation (30%)
- Partner with senior Marketing leaders and Verve’s Product org on the planning, development and execution of Verve’s Product Marketing strategy, including product branding, internal documentation, external collateral, website content, thought leadership, and positioning.
- Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Verve products in the market.
- Create and maintain internal documentation and external collateral with the latest and most up to date Verve messaging and capabilities.
- Cross collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales (including Planning, Account Management, and AdOps) and executive leadership to ensure consistent messaging across all teams and platforms.
Sales Training and Enablement (25%)
- Communicate the value proposition of the products to the Sales team and develop the Sales tools that support the selling process of Verve’s products.
- Design and execute an annual training program and the flexibility to build in one-off education sessions when and if necessary, aligned with the product roadmap and in advance of the product release.
- Support the sell to ensure those representing Verve in the market are enabled and armed with the knowledge and context for Verve products and why they are the best solution for the client.
Market Intelligence (25%)
- Conduct continual competitive and marketplace analysis through external research, CSAT, and Verve’s formal research relationships.
- Convey competitive and marketplace analysis and findings to the larger organization to enhance their ability to think strategically, whether they enable the sell, make the sell, or make the sell better.
- Work directly with Sales to be the expert in Verve’s clients, how they buy and their buying criteria and transfer that knowledge to the Product organization to allow them to strategically develop and enhance Verve products.
Product Launch (20%)
- Collaborate with the Product org to plan the launch of new products, releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan, internally and externally.
- Monitor launch success and work with Product org to measure ROI.
- Partner with Corp marketing on external communication plan/strategy of product launches.
- Develop pricing outline and strategy for Verve products, in the scope of Verve’s rate card and the competitive landscape.
- 5+ years of product marketing experience in the digital media industry; mobile experience, a plus
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into plain language for varied audiences (agencies, brands, other business partners)
- Familiarity with the AdTech landscape Success with delivering cohesive and differentiated sales presentations and marketing collateral
- Superior communication skills, including strong writing abilities and proven experience in making complex subject matter accessible to a broader audience
- Flexible cross-functional team player energized by working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, often ambiguous environment
- Enthusiastic self-starter with a willingness to operate at both highly strategic and very tactical levels
- Effective project management and decision-making skills
- Ability to travel on a limited basis
