Summary
Assisting engineers in day to day activities including project scoping documents, updating one-line drawings, development of detail drawings, development of power system dynamic and steady State models, data collection and model verification, perform engineering calculations, perform fault calculations and develop relay settings, develop substation project designs, compile user requirement for substation equipment, document equipment requirements and processes, develop relay designs, substation equipment inventory management, setup stock codes for standards materials, validating estimating prices and equipment units, material order management, material procurement, material take-offs, SWMS database correction and support, as-built document support and comparisons, support of Business Analyst processes within Project Controls through data mining and reporting, increase model accuracy, benchmarking and automation, associated with configuration management to improve and automate processes to increase efficiency in model development, testing, benchmarking, and accuracy, support engineers on special projects, wire test panels to be used for training, check wiring in standard relay designs, support Capital Projects and Blanket projects, develop parts library for Substation Design Automation, regulatory compliance, updates lists and databases for stakeholders, controls and tests, manage procedures, record series and regulatory requirements, document facilities evaluations and equalization support, and provide project status updates. Field work may be required for some of the positions.
Responsibilities
As a provider of essential services, Entergy expects its employees to be available to work additional hours, to work in alternate locations, and/or to perform additional duties in connection with storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary by the company. Exempt employees may not be paid overtime associated with such duties.
Ideal Candidate
Entergy’s Transmission Department will hire 12 interns studying Engineering, Physics, Data Systems or Computer Science that are in their 3rd or 4th year of school or enrolled in graduate studies with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to work in the Louisiana Grid Substation Operations group, the Transmission Planning Technical Studies group, the Substation Design groups, the Relay Standards group, the Relay Design groups, the Relay Settings and Configurations group, the Project Management and Construction group, and the Transmission Policy group which are located in the New Orleans area of Louisiana.
