Summary
The Information Governance Director will lead the information management program and act as a single point of accountability for information management strategy, technology solutions, and change management efforts. The Information Governance Director must work well with teams and be comfortable working in a fast-paced global environment. The Information Governance Director will lead the information management program, as well as articulate and implement the company’s vision for information management through policy, budget, and inter-organizational initiatives. The Team Member will direct people and programs to realize the information management vision through strategic and business planning.
Responsibilities
* Administer the information management program and manage its personnel, including the functional area Records Coordinator network * Design global information management policies and procedures * Manage, control and direct active records systems and centers, records organization and evaluation, inactive records systems, records centers and maintenance, correspondence control, reports and directives control, and records retention * Provide expertise and input into other functional areas that affect the information management program and assure that these functions fully support and implement the information management program policies * Design, build and implement technology solutions, including completion of company-wide file planning effort for information management program * Identify legacy records management systems through the organization * Plan and execute systems consolidation, moving the company toward centralized records and information repositories * Devise and implement a strategy to apply retention periods to electronically stored data * Design and implement change management efforts and educating Team Members on managing records and information * Manage vendors and consultants working on the information management program and approve and manage project scope, cost, and timeline * Work closely with the information management program vendors and consultants to improve the information management program * Collaborate closely with IT, Audit, and Finance on information management program requirements * Design the audit program for monitoring compliance with the information management program * Coordinate with the E-Discovery Director to align the information management program to comply with litigation hold processes and best practices
Ideal Candidate
* BA/BS Bachelor’s Degree * A minimum of seven (7) years relevant work experience with a minimum of five (5) years of experience involving records and information management, preferably in a global corporation * A minimum of three (3) years of managerial experience * Ability to lead teams, articulate program goals, and manage budgets * Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills (oral and written) with Team Members at all levels of the organization * Ability to train and communicate effectively * Experience in driving and executing complex programs across a large enterprise * Independently prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes * It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions: * BA/BS Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Library Sciences or related degree OR a MA/MS Master’s Degree * A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience * A minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience * Certified Records Manager (CRM)
