Summary

This position is a challenging opportunity to enhance CEGA’s management, communications, and faculty/staff efficiency. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about academic administration and global development; have a strong desire to use and deepen technical skills in database administration, website development and information management; and are energized to contribute to the long-term success of a dynamic organization.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development of CEGA’s Salesforce database including:
    • Collaborating with a consultant to inform the configuration of complex Salesforce Custom Objects, Fields, Workflows, Approval Processes, Rules, etc. as needed;
    • Overseeing Salesforce administration, maintenance, troubleshooting and data migration tasks based on input from staff and consultants;
    • Analyzing trends in administrative data and creating reports and dashboards to inform decision-making by program managers and senior leadership; • Proactively improving and customizing Salesforce to suit the unit’s changing needs;
    • Driving data quality within the Center, by conducting ongoing trainings and improving current training materials for internal staff.
  • Support the transition of the unit’s website from a custom-built platform to a conventional CMS (e.g. Wordpress). Research existing website designs and advise leadership on transition process, new layouts, and budget. Maintain website backend.
  • Serve as the lead technical advisor on data sharing, archiving, and migration initiatives. Research new information-sharing platforms, advise leadership on new options, coordinate transitions and upgrades, and maintain systems as needed.
  • Liaise with Campus departments or initiatives (IT, bConnected, Campus Shared Services) and external vendors such as Salesforce consultants and web developers.
  • Support staff and management in the implementation of new Center-wide processes and information systems.
  • Support management or analysis of select financial data, including budgeting, data cleaning, expense tracking, oversight of subawards, and securing required approvals.
  • Advise on or implement strategies for research dissemination through online and print content and other media.
  • Actively participate in center-wide activities, internal work groups, and process documentation.
Ideal Candidate
  • BA/BS in business, management science, information systems, public administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years experience with Salesforce administration, including database design, installing and modifying objects, setting-up custom reports and dashboards.
  • Thorough understanding of capabilities and limitations of the platform. Salesforce-specific experience can be substituted for 3+ years database administration.
  • Proven track record developing websites and online content, including proficiency with markup languages and platforms, such as Wordpress.
  • Broad knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with the design and implementation of information sharing and financial reporting systems.
  • Experience with data management, very strong quantitative skills and attention to detail, and ability to quickly learn new software packages.
  • Extensive analytical/problem-solving skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate complicated information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Interest in visual design, user interaction, online communications, and information visualization.
  • Self-directed and intrinsically motivated; proven ability to manage work independently, multitask and be responsive to time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Team player with collaborative approach; ability to contribute to brainstorming sessions while remaining flexible and able to adapt to change.
  • Strong and effective interpersonal skills in working with staff at all levels. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work diplomatically with diverse constituencies
