Summary
The communications specialist intern will play an integral role in driving awareness and demand for Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services U.S. Public Sector Global Practices offerings and capabilities. The candidate will support sales enablement and marketing efforts within the Practice organization through the creation of content offerings, using a variety of multi-channel tools, to include writing, editing, graphic design and videography. This individual should possess demonstrated editorial judgment, with a capacity to create compelling business content across a variety of platforms. In addition, the individual should have a passion for social media. Candidates must have completed three years of their bachelor's degree before starting this role with HPE. The candidate will work closely with Practice subject matter experts, Practice marketing communication team members and the regional marketing department to create internal and external communication products.
Responsibilities
* Interview experts; develop messaging; write and edit finished collateral on topics relating to the Global Practice areas-Workplace and Mobility Solutions; Workplace and Cloud Solutions; Analytics and Data Management; Application Services; Enterprise Security and Consulting Services * Write, edit and create internal communications to include newsletters, video scripts, organizational announcements, presentations, web pages and other deliverables. * Support the editorial needs of the U.S. Public Sector Global Practice organization * Developing and shaping content for multiple platforms, both conventional print as well as web, video, social media, and other digital formats * Act as a liaison with HPE ‘s marketing department and support that team with editorial direction relating to the Practice offerings
Ideal Candidate
* Completed three years of Bachelor’s degree in journalism (preferred), English, writing, or business communications. * Experience in producing or assisting with new media deliverables such as webcasts, audiocasts, informational graphics and video. * Adept at the use of social media, with an ability to detect and create trending topics * Proven writing, research and editing skills with samples to share (business or college publications) * Experience in distilling cogent messages from complex or technical information and in researching topics * Knowledge of basic copyediting and style guides (e.g. AP, Chicago, GPO), with strong attention to detail; fluency in English with solid grammar skills * Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact with multiple departments and functions, and to interview and interact with personnel at multiple levels within the organization * Preferred skills: * Experience in corporate communications, journalism, content creation or publishing * Skilled in the creation and production of video and multimedia content using software packages such as Adobe Creative Suite
