Summary
The Director of Development, Video will work alongside a collaborative, energetic video team to execute a robust video strategy for Time Inc. with a primary focus on dynamic, unscripted content. This is a key role for an experienced development executive poised to work with editorial leads across brands like Time, People and Sports Illustrated to identify new programming opportunities suitable to pitch to broadcast and cable networks and emerging media partners.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with producers and brand leads to develop original programming for the varied audiences in the Time Inc. portfolio, focusing primarily on unscripted content * Cultivate and maintain relationships with broadcast and OTT networks * Manage third party relationships: receiving pitches and developing talent and show concepts * Manage an annual development budget dedicated to original series * Supervise production of pilots and maintain a standard of quality across all new properties * Produce sizzle reels and pitches to package new original programs for market * Gather and analyze financial and operating data
Ideal Candidate
* **Experience:** You come to the table with 8-10 years of programming development experience, a deep knowledge of the digital and linear programming space and a strong network of connections. You have at least five years of relevant experience at a major media company or network. You have prior experience writing scripts and treatments, overseeing the launch of series and building detailed production budgets. * **Examples:** Show, don’t tell.
