Summary
The Market Development Manager is responsible for supporting the strategic development and execution of sales, marketing and related growth initiatives for the assigned customers. The Market Development Manager will support the creation of demand for Henry Schein’s overall capabilities, suite of products, services and technologies for assigned customers. With a goal of increasing Henry Schein market penetration and awareness, the Market Development Manager’s responsibilities will include: performing market and competitive research, developing marketing plans to support Medical group growth, gathering and disseminating customer insights, identifying (through financial and market knowledge) business development opportunities, and developing effective business partnerships with internal (sales, operations, finance) and external ( e.g. service providers, business partners, trade organizations) stakeholders in the creation of communication materials and campaign ideations.
Responsibilities
* Conducts market research to investigate and plan opportunities for growth with a focus on new/emerging customer segments. Resources will include: syndicated market data, professional journals, industry conferences, trade associations, primary research projects, sales/marketing teams, among others. * Researches and analyzes business development opportunities – across specialties, services and technologies – to augment Medical group’s value proposition and support growth pipeline. Presents business plan and analysis, including: competitive landscape, SWOT, Henry Schein performance, product/services gap(s), sales/marketing strategies, integration with existing Henry Schein Medical infrastructure. * Collaborates with product category and marketing communication teams to formulate, plan and execute campaigns targeting assigned customers and measurement of post-campaign ROI. * Assists in management, coordination, strategy and execution for identification, evaluation and launch of Solutions targeting assigned customers. * Supports increased two-way communication of Market Development initiatives with key stakeholders (i.e, sales, corporate communications, operations). * Ongoing collaboration with other functional areas in place to serve the market including sales, operations, marketing, finance and ensure alignment in the execution of defined customer segment strategy. * Fields customer and sales team requests, including: market information, sales tools, marketing and tradeshow material support. * Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required. **In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:** * Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures including WorldWide Business Standards. * Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.
Ideal Candidate
**Experience:** * Minimum 5-7 years of marketing experience including demonstrated experience with developing/executing strategic marketing plans and programs that drive business success in a B2B setting; forecasting and product launches/commercialization. Experience in driving marketing strategy. **Specialized Knowledge and Skills:** * Strong, proven understanding of market competitive analysis and market penetration strategy. Demonstrated problem solving capabilities. Excellent interpersonal skills to manage senior stakeholders including executive, marketing and sales colleagues and partners against common goals. Experience in medical industry and/or medical supply distribution preferred. Experience with alternate site and/or retail marketing programs desired. **Other:** * Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
