Summary
The Inside Sales Representative will work cooperatively with Marketing, Product Development and Sale Management to expand the base of public and commercial clients using RS Means cost data tools to build competitive cost estimates and intelligent construction information solutions.
Responsibilities
* Develop renewal business within the assigned territory through an ongoing, proactive outbound call campaign based on leads generated by research, trade shows, marketing campaigns, and referrals * Respond to inbound leads generated by trade shows and marketing campaigns * Partner closely with assigned Outside Sales Director to undertake strategic, revenue-generating initiatives * Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to capture business intelligence, articulate RS Means' value proposition, recommend appropriate solutions, and emphasize solution features and benefits * Maintain pipeline opportunities and log all activity in the designated customer relationship management (CRM) system * Develop and maintain an expert level of knowledge of company solutions and competition in the market * Participate in ongoing training to increase professional growth and job effectiveness * Perform at a level achieving and exceeding all activity and sales metrics
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of experience in selling SaaS, technology, information services, or business services solutions with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed a sales quota * Consistent track record of developing new business and managing sales cycle, from generating leads through closing * Previous experience and knowledge of selling to the public sector, higher education architecture/engineering vertical, and/or construction sector a plus * Must have strong communication skills (verbal and written), be comfortable making large numbers of outbound calls (e.g., prospecting, following up), and possess a demonstrated ability to understand and explain complex solutions and services * A good awareness of the sales process with the ability to understand and interpret customer needs using fact-finding to identify sales opportunities * Must be able to work well without direct supervision and also as part of an overall team * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and prior experience using a CRM Solution
