Summary
Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a New Product Project Manager at our Pegasus facility. Pegasus Manufacturing is recognized internationally as a highly specialized manufacturer of complete turnkey solutions for the aerospace, power generation, ship and submarine building, and hi-tech industries. This position will manage planning, implementing and launching complex contract manufacturing requirements from customer contract receipt through delivery of first article, including ensuring customer expectations are met throughout the manufacturing process. We are looking for a proven leader with a strong track record in manufacturing operations management and a passion for continuous improvement. Experience in cross-functional management and quality control is required. Responsibilities
* Act as a vital company contact for new customers to ensure product specifications are understood prior to manufacturing and expectations are met throughout the contract * Lead project planning events for key customer orders * Provide constant communication with customers and operations to ensure scheduling deadlines are met and product quality is delivered, including creating and updating milestones and action plan implementations * Collaborate with internal partners to ensure upfront engineering, quality, purchasing & production planning are done timely and accurately * Participate during customer kickoff meetings & audits and track closure of any identified gaps, including ensuring any required training programs are created & implemented and any required new technology or additional capacity are planned and implemented to support the overall project plan * Develop a Sales, Operations & Inventory Plan (SOIP) to ensure internal & external capacity is in place to support new launches
Ideal Candidate
* Previously managed complex aerospace first run projects that supported OEM qualification and/or testing programs * Experience in product development and/or quality assurance * Bachelor’s degree in an operations, engineering or quality discipline or any equivalent combination of experience and training * Knowledge of MS Project, timelines and multi-level Gantt charts * Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, CI and process improvement * Experience with Sales & Operations Planning and/or Master Production Scheduling
