Summary

As an Applications Engineer for MTS sensors, you are the expert for providing key technical support to customers, distributors and field sales engineers. The ideal candidate will be motivated, responsive, a top performer with strong communication skills and will have the ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-centric and team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
* Provides customers, distributors and MTS sales personnel with technical support for MTS sensor products. Applications support consists of both, recommending specific products based on applications knowledge and the specific needs of customers, as well as, troubleshooting applications issues and resolving customer problems in the field. * Performs market analysis in markets segments. Prepares documentation of analysis results, provides and presents that material to Sales and Marketing. * Travels with field sales engineers to visit customers for the purpose of providing applications consulting, identifying new opportunities, and providing technical updates to the market in forums such as Innovation Workshops. * Develops and maintains a working knowledge of new and existing products and specializes on specific product lines as assigned. Works closely with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Repair, and Engineering to identify and resolve field quality issues as needed. * Carries and responds to pager/phone calls in support of Sensors Division’s 24 hour technical assistance service. * Evaluates the technical and business feasibility of custom (small volume) products as well as overseeing the processing of custom orders. * Assists Product Management and Marketing Communications in the review of product literature for correctness and completeness and gives approval of such via the LCO process. * Participates in customer and distributor training programs, including developing presentations for new programs or new products as needed. * Provides feedback to product management, marketing, QA, manufacturing and design engineering concerning product performance for the purpose of product and customer satisfaction improvement.
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications:** * Associate's Degree in a technical field with 5 years of applicable experience. * Ability to understand basic engineering documents, drawings, and measured data. * Ability to understand basic sensor programming and PLC setup. * Proven technical writing and verbal communications skills. * Strong presentation skills, ability to interact with customers at varying levels of an organization. * Ability to travel up to 25% (Both domestic and international) **Additional Qualifications:** * Prior understanding of hydraulic systems (E.g. Construction/highway equipment) * Software knowledge * Prior experience with electric circuit design * Bachelor’s degree
