Summary
The Development Manager will be responsible for the overall management of LifePRO’s Onshore Development Team. The LifePRO Development team consists of onsite and remote development resources, and is supplemented by an offshore development team. The LifePRO Development Manager is responsible for the guidance and evolution of the LifePRO development model and execution of technical initiatives related to the LifePRO platform. Key projects include client requested system modifications, defect support and technical re-architecture projects.. The ideal candidate will be well versed in project management methodologies and procedures, possess the ability to lead a team of experienced development professionals, and have experience with dual shore development teams.
Responsibilities
* Develop, motivate, coach, advise and manage the LifePRO Development team to provide optimal systems support to clients * Direct systems application development and maintenance maximizing on shore and off shore teams to meet business demand * Perform resource management and scheduling for all application development activities * Work closely with technology and quality assurance managers developing and modifying plans and coordinating and prioritizing projects ensuring budget, quality, and service targets are achieved * Ensure appropriate systems application development and project management processes are being utilized * Provide status reporting on projects and resources to senior management
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field * Candidate must have 10+ years as systems professional and systems supervisory experience at a senior level, and experience successfully managing projects and/or teams * Ability to effectively evaluate and apply project management methodologies and ensure that the necessary technical resources are supporting projects and systems * Knowledge of the Information Technology areas, best practices, issues and real world experience in developing and deploying enterprise class solutions * Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface with all types of IT professionals, business users and customers * Experience supporting a wide range of end users * Ability to exercise flexibility and judgment in a changing environment * Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities * Ability to perform duties independently **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience with policy administration systems supporting Life, Health and/or Annuity products is desirable but not required
