Summary
Reporting to the SVP, Operations and CIO, the VP of Information Technology directs the architecture, design, development, and optimization of Zones information technology systems and functions in support of company and customer strategic business processes. This individual is directly responsible for the Systems Architecture, Development, Business Systems Analysis, and IT Operations teams. Responsibilities
**Strategy and Business Process Planning** * Regularly interact with key business leaders across the organization to gain in-depth understanding of the strategic priorities of various departments including finance, supply chain, Partner and Program Marketing, and Sales and provide efficient and effective technology solutions and processes * Assist with various business process improvement initiatives across the organization * Develop implement and communicate departmental strategic plans and goals that support company-wide goals and priorities * Lead business enhancing technology change and innovation throughout the organization * Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization * Establish IT departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures * Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development * Assess and communicate risks associated with IT investments * Develop, track, and control the information technology annual operating and capital budgets * Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives * Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan * Drive process and productivity improvements through technology enablement * Keep current with trends and issues in the IT industry Advise, counsel, and educate executives and management on their competitive or financial impact **Business Application Development and Delivery** * Experiencing implementing and supporting ERP, * Ecommerce and CRM applications * Direct the application development team to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget, are error free and are integrated within the defined IT infrastructure * Lead the Technical Advisory Board meetings used to prioritize all development and enhancement efforts * Solicit, maintain and manage business enhancement requests * Ensure all business enhancements are delivered in timely manner and quality tested * Ensure application up-time is maximized to enable the business to run without interruption **Operations** * Ensure continuous delivery of IT services through oversight of service level agreements with business leaders and monitor IT systems for performance and capacity * Maintain systems availability at 9995% and optimum performance of all applications Oversee the Help Desk and establish up to date standards for customer contact with Operations through the Help Desk * Formulate strategic and tactical plans for maintaining all business systems to keep pace with customer needs and growth and ensures Zones business objectives are attained * Develop and monitor service levels agreements with customer departments * Develop strategies and initiatives for improving system performance and reducing operating costs * Drives operational readiness efforts to ensure new services are released with little to no impact to the business * Ensure key IT environment is secure from internal and external threats * Oversee IT policy and procedures and ensure compliance **Organizational and People Development** * Lead a global team of professionals – US and India Includes setting quarterly goals, conducting reviews, resource management, and establishing individual development plans * Provide professional growth opportunities through training and development for managers and technical staff * Proactively assess and optimize the IT organization to meet the needs of a fast growing domestic and international business * Set KPIs for the organization and monitor performance against them
Ideal Candidate
* BA in Computer Science, Business, or a related field * 8+ years required of senior and executive leadership experience * 15+ years required of IT experience * Knowledge and practical experience across a formal systems development life cycle. * Superior written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to align key stakeholders toward a common goal and drive results and facilitate change. * Experience in deployment, integration, and on-going management of Enterprise Applications. * Experience negotiating with vendors; ability to manage external relationships with contracting firms and application developers. * Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management * Excellent understanding of project management principles. * Superior understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. * Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems **Technology Focus & Requirements** * Experience with Microsoft and Java platforms * Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL framework. * Proven experience in IT planning, organization, and development
