We are looking for a talented Sr. Manager to be part of this cutting edge team respected for the products they produce and client satisfaction those products support.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Manager Software Applications Engineering for Adviser Services Core Technology you will be a point of contact for the File Delivery and Data Movement for software development initiatives, maintenance and ongoing operational support. You will lead a team of 8 -10 developers. You will engage primarily with direct and indirect reports and business partners, including application developers, technical analysts, QA, Project Managers, program management, business partners, domain partners, as well as cross enterprise Managers and Officers. This position will be responsible for delivering high quality solutions that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative and rapidly changing delivery environment. It requires highly motivated and focused leaders, inspired to build strong performing teams to construct new and innovative solutions for our Clients. This individual must have proven organizational and people leadership capabilities to build and enhance Agile oriented product development teams. The ability to understand, align, and communicate to business leadership is an essential component of the role. The ideal candidate will have the experience necessary to ensure that Advice Technology is a leading edge organization in terms of technical strategy and delivery. Candidates should have a passion for understanding emerging technologies and creating a cutting edge technology department.
Ideal Candidate
**General** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline. * 5+ years of enterprise software application project experience, with project management, resource management, and offshore vendor management capabilities. * 3+ years of experience with running medium to large to complex projects with multiple dependencies. * Strong knowledge of the financial industry. **Management** * Experience successfully driving technology change initiatives in an organization. * Experience hiring exceptional technology staff. * Ability to coach, manage and grow staff. * Tactfully communicates sensitive information. * Handles difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion, HR advice, and respect for the individual. * Evokes creative and innovative thinking from team members while helping them to bring their ideas and career plans to fruition. * Helps to determine new, creative ways to employ teams on projects and distribute responsibilities. * Assesses training needs and selects training tools for team members. * A visible leader that yearns for developing and motivating the next technology leaders. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones and locations. * Experience in planning, implementation and support of business application components. * Pursues excellence in all aspects of business. **Technical** * Experience fostering an innovation culture and a thirst for technology innovation. * Expert knowledge of software development, testing, maintenance and support. * Professional experience building distributed scalable enterprise-class applications. * Strong programming background and software development lifecycle background. * Strong knowledge of, and advocate for CI/CD tools and processes. * Experience implementing a DevOps culture and environment. * Strong Quality Assurance background with understanding of automation tools and best practices. * Strong technology affinity and experience, as well as attention to detail and the ability to design, execute and maintain strategic goals and metrics. * Easily recognizes areas for internal improvement and develops plans for implementation.
