Responsibilities
* Book reservations for air travel, hotels, car rentals, and trains in a timely, efficient manner; follow up to complete the reservation * Obtain passports and visas when required for both US and foreign national employees * Build and maintain travelers profiles, ensuring special requests and reward program information such as frequent flyer/car/hotel ID numbers are included * Respond to requests for price quotations utilizing automated system(s) for domestic and international itineraries * Promote the acceptance of fares, rates, and suppliers that match the clients travel program policies and negotiated contracts; apply discount programs appropriately * Remain informed of all airline rules and regulations and current affairs; communicate information to clients accurately and appropriately * Monitor, sort, and work global distribution systems (GDS) queues daily to maintain quality control * Maintain professional and courteous customer relations by managing a prompt and accurate response to telephone and e-mail communications * Understand and properly use airline terminology, codes, fare basis, rules, resource guides, and industry contacts
Ideal Candidate
**Requirements:** * A minimum of four years of recent work experience in the travel industry in the past six years, including two years of international experience * Knowledge of both domestic and international faring and ticketing procedures as well as ticketing procedures for airline, hotel, and car rental systems * Knowledge of visas required for both US and foreign national travelers to international destinations * Strong knowledge of domestic travel arrangements * Proficiency with global distribution system (GDS), SABRE preferred * Professional telephone skills and excellent customer service skills * Demonstrated Internet research skills for obtaining travel information and booking flights, trains, and hotels when required * PC skills to include proficiency in data entry, e-mail, and Windows and a typing speed of 45 words per minute * Ability to work independently, exercising discretion and judgment * Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities * Capability of working in a team environment supporting management and staff * Organizational skills that result in high productivity **Recommended Qualifications:** * Basic experience with making both domestic and international travel arrangements * Recent experience with SABRE GDS
