Summary

Account Managers are the primary point of contact with our established customers. They develop and cultivate customer relationships. They are the person that customers contact every day to resolve problems, to get updates on activities, and to share all information regarding future planning and ad hoc needs. Account Managers also set up and maintain customer accounts in our JD Edwards Enterprise One software system. All of these activities have the purpose of efficiently and consistently satisfying our customers’ needs.

Responsibilities
  • Work with our customers and each of our departments to communicate our customers’ needs and to quickly resolve customer and operational issues.
  • Prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Create and maintain routine reports and key performance indicators using Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Develop work instructions for customer specific requirements.
  • Ensure that the pricing policy established for the respective customer(s) is followed. Negotiate better pricing where applicable.
  • Plan to meet customer demands, as well as internal requirements from sales, operations, and fulfillment.
  • Troubleshoot issues. Promptly investigate any inquiries or concerns (scheduling, delivery, invoicing, etc.) that cannot be immediately resolved. Ensure effective resolution and interface with other departments to resolve discrepancies.
  • Participate in external (with customers present) and internal (without customers present) operational meetings.
  • Prepare and often lead monthly operational customer reviews.
  • Analyze processes to prevent problems/issues.
  • Advise management on new/potential business opportunities with customers. Work with the Customer Account team to help bring on new accounts, ensuring they are properly set up.
  • Assure compliance to ISO 9000 and 14001procedures/processes and adhere to the DCL Code of Conduct. Proactively review, recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiencies, profitability and continuous quality improvement.
  • Make decisions on raw material procurement quantities and submit purchasing requisitions to Purchasing.
  • Able to drive a car for customer visits. Possess current driver’s license.
Ideal Candidate
  • 3+ years of customer support experience, preferably at a 3PL or pick/pack & ship business such as Amazon, Best Buy, eBay, GSI Commerce, Guess, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related major is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP software such as Red Praire, SAP or JD Edwards Enterprise One is preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal & written communications and strong listening skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and service orientation skills, demonstrating a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Excellent problem-solving, multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently with a minimal amount of direction.
  • Prefer BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9000 preferred.
