Summary
The Costing Manager is a key leader in the Finance Department. You will help to build, mentor and grow the Accounting team. This role will also imbed themselves into the operations group, owning all financial models related to lab operations, providing support where necessary.This role will also work closely with the Controller, owning the general ledger and monthly close to help build scalable and well controlled processes.
Responsibilities
* Perform and manage tasks related to monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close and ensure the timeliness of internal financial reporting to management. This includes reviewing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts. * Investigate, prepare and review variance analysis for the balance sheet and income statement for all inventory and COGS accounts. * Proactively identify opportunities to streamline accounting operations by developing and implementing efficient and scalable processes across general accounting areas. * Become an expert in our production line, partnering with all production operations groups to identify areas of efficiency improvement. * Provide financial metrics to the organization to identify areas of waste. * Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audit requests, and aid in the research and analysis of audit issues. * Collect, analyze and report actual manufacturing costs, material, labor, etc., comparing budget costs to actual production costs, develop reporting and analytics, work closely with FP&A
Ideal Candidate
* 5+ years experience in a high growth private/public company. Preferably with 1 or more years of experience in managerial capacity. * CPA preferred. * Solid planning, leadership, and prioritization skills. Demonstrates high energy with the ability to remain flexible and change priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Experience with material and capacity requirements planning * Strong Excel skills and expertly use ERP systems to manage internal and external account information (Netsuite experience is a plus) * Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
