Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing HR expertise to support the various HR functions and initiatives. Assists the management team on proactive planning, organizing, and implementing processes and programs in areas such as, employee relations, performance management, orientation, recruitment, diversity, and miscellaneous projects. Represents the corporation to employees. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values. This position will support multiple locations in central and northern Indiana and Cincinnati.
Responsibilities
Main areas of focus and accountability of the role include administering HR plans and procedures for company personnel as well as assisting in implementing and administering policies and produres. The HR Generalist will be counted on to provide advice and counsel to managers on various HR programs as well as policy interpretation. This role will also provide feedback and analysis of performance reviews, salary increase proposals, and key metrics such as headcount, turnover and will provide recommendations to management for corrective actions. The HR Generalist will conduct exit interviews and provide analysis on the feedback and make recommendations to management on how to improve retention. The HR Generalist will be responsible for responding to a broad range of human relations related questions for their employee population. This role may be required to represent the company for unemployment claims and assist with a variety of corporate projects such as system implementations, conversions, open enrollment, and other employee events as needed.
Ideal Candidate
**Education & Qualifications** * Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Management or related field required. * Minimum 2-4 years related experience * Minimum 2 years industry experience preferred **Experience** * Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. * Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds. * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. * Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and develop procedures and processes. * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. * PC literate. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications including Oracle or other HRIS Systems. **Specialist Knowledge & Skills** * Must have good organizational skills and be detail oriented. * Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential documents and information. **Interpersonal & Communication Skills** * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Must be able to interact with senior level management. * Requires excellent problem solving and analytical skills to effectively research, monitor, manage and report problems. * Must be able to meet deadlines and complete all projects in a timely manner with the ability to work within ever changing time frames and priority levels. * Develop and use collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals; develop individual relationships by listening, sharing ideas and appreciating others' efforts. * Maintain stable performance under pressure or opposition; handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and the organization. * Use appropriate methods and a flexible interpersonal style to help build a cohesive team and facilitate the completion of team goals.
