Summary
Reporting to the Category Director, the Brand Manager plans, develops and implements brand, category management and marketing strategies and program activities for a large national brand in order to drive growth, volume, share and income. Responsibilities include the development and execution of brand strategy and marketing programs, key initiative project management, product portfolio strategy, and the coordination of field sales, cross functional teams, and suppliers as directed.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate to develop annual business and marketing plans for relevant categories of responsibility with appropriate objectives, strategies, programs, tactics and rationale. * Manage and coordinate efforts of functional groups on key initiatives exercising sound judgment when providing direction to these project teams. * Oversee the planning and execution of key business and marketing activities related to positioning, product development, packaging, pricing, consumer and trade promotion, advertising, public relations and social media with daily agency communication, manage market research: both Qualitative and Quantitative. * Work with Internal & External Teams to drive cost savings and productivity initiatives. * Develop localized business plans in conjunction with the Market Area and Retailer Customer Teams. Anticipate and manage the revision of plans as needed to address an ever changing competitive environment. * Develop new product, line extension, and product improvement recommendations based on consumer learning, competitive and internal sales trends and manufacturing opportunity. * Establish marketing and promotional expenditures and set up controls to maintain financial commitments working closely with Financial Management. Includes post program results evaluation and forward recommendations. * Provide on-going Weekly, Monthly & Period Sales Analysis utilizing Internal & External Sales Reporting Databases with Executive Level Summary
Ideal Candidate
* Requires Masters of Business Administration, ideally with emphasis in Marketing * Strong progressive Marketing background with at least 3 years of experience beyond B-school * Consumer Packaged Goods or Food Industry experience preferred * Sales experience a plus * Strong Leadership and Personality skills * Excellent persuasive communication skills: written, verbal and presentation. * Ability to multi-task organize time and lead groups with minimum direction * Strong understanding of business planning and strategy, marketing principles, analysis, promotions, budgeting, project management, and forecasting * Familiarity with Sales, Manufacturing, R&D, Supply Chain and Finance principles * Experience managing day to day Agency and Vendor communication. * Strong ability to manage people without having direct organizational authority * Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to generate business insights from diverse data sources * Self-starter with proven ability to manage complexity and problem-solve independently * Master Level Computer skills, PowerPoint, Excel and other software/ applications * Experience with IRI, Spectra and industry standard data-points a plus * Ability to travel up to 25%.
