Marketing Specialist

Functions in a project management support role that provides visibility to the Marketing/Brand Management department. Supports the analysis of business results using company tools. Acts as liaison between the sales force and the Domestic Marketing/Brand Management team through project work. Works cross functionally with Sales, Direct to Consumer, Special Events, Consumer Research, SMAS, Winemaking and Creative Services. Reports to the Marketing Manager – Brand Marketing.
- Prepares weekly and monthly reports and conducts basic analyses, including promotional analyses, annual business reviews using IRI, BRIO, FMM, Spectra, Scarborough, shipments and depletions for assigned brands.
- Monitors competitive and internal data to inform the brand teams.
- Supports the brand team in consumer facing marketing programs on key brands as identified by brand leadership.
- Develops, secures the compliance department’s approval, and communicates brand/product content for use in tasting notes, customer programming, consumer communications and brand programming.
- Provides recommendations to brand managers regarding Brand programming based on data analysis; makes recommendations to AMM's and others.
- Works with Brands and Communications Coordinator to learn and coordinate input of Digital Assets to Gallo Edge. Partners with Marketing Communications Coordinator to ensure appropriate materials are posted to Gallo Edge in a timely fashion. Ensures the creative approval process for design requirements is met prior to submitting.
- Manages project budget(s) as assigned.
- Develops proficiency in web-based and digital communications systems used by in the Brand/Channel Marketing functions.
- Composes and presents creative briefs for brand programs to Creative.
- Prepares CMP presentations and approves POS and Creative designs as on target with Brand strategies.
- Serves as marketing liaison to such groups as Gallo Gear, legal department and the compliance department.
- Provides materials and coordinating support to Direct-to-Consumer, Special Events teams, Hospitality and Tasting rooms.
- Participates in and adds value to the Annual Brand Planning Process.
- Serves as point of contact for any Sales questions with regard to the Brand(s). Serves as direct contact for sales selling materials.
- Communicates with Sales regarding all existing and upcoming POS programs, line extensions, added value programs, and other brand related business decisions.
- Prepares and coordinates special projects.
- Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor’s degree, plus 2 years of communications, finance, marketing, supply chain/supply planning, process development, new product development, project management, process engineering, or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility -OR- Bachelor’s degree plus Gallo experience.
- Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Computer skill requirements include: Basic MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Tangible marketing experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business plus Gallo specific sales experience at the District Manager level.
- Preferred computer skills include: Intermediate MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Skilled in applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
- Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Experience with performing work that is varied and somewhat difficult in character, usually involving limited responsibility, requiring frequent evaluation, originality or ingenuity.
- Knowledge of and experience with applying the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of this particular field of specialization.
- Skilled in written and verbal communications, organization and time management, and Problem solving.
