Summary
Appian is seeking a hard-working and enthusiastic HR Coordinator to join our growing team. This position is perfect for somebody who is looking to gain HR experience and knowledge. The HR Coordinator will provide administrative support to the HR department and will help administer the company’s HR programs within the following areas: benefits administration, compliance, onboarding, immigration, employee relations, compensation, HRIS, and training and development.The ideal candidate will be a detail oriented self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to maintain the highly confidential nature of HR work and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
* Communicates frequently with employees regarding HR matters * Answers routine external inquiries on employment verifications in line with company policies * Maintains employee files in line with company policies and government regulations; records changes on all employee status as necessary * Conducts audits of payroll, benefits, and/or other HR programs and recommends corrective actions * Assists with the required corporate mailing of documents to current and past employees * Works closely with office management in the preparation of the corporate newsletter * Prepares employee census information for insurance, 401(k), and other reports * Maintains and updates the HR portion of Appian’s intranet with relevant, necessary and required information * Assists in the preparation and processing for new hire orientations and exit interviews * Assists in the preparation of all required benefit and employment filings (EEO, VETS, 5500’s etc.) * Assists with coordination of employee functions, such as quarterly meetings, events, and the annual holiday party * Performs such other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
**Required Experience:** * Able to exercise sound judgment, be able to plan, be well organized, have excellent oral and written communication skills, work well under pressure, take initiative, and be flexible and cooperative; individual should also be accurate, timely, tactful and discrete * Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of HR work * Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the company * Ability to thrive, and preference for, dynamic, fast paced and high growth environments **Preferred Qualifications** * Entry level or one + year in similar employment * Exposure to HRIS is a plus * Exposure to payroll procedures is a plus **Education** * B.A/B.S. degree, including courses in human resources management
