Real Estate Research Analyst

American is an Investment manager to institutional investors and with over $6 billion in assets under management, has provided real estate investment management services for over 26 years utilizing core and value-added commingled funds and separate accounts.

The Real Estate Research Analyst, reporting directly to the Managing Director of Research and Investment Strategy, is responsible for conducting macroeconomic, capital market and property market research and analysis. This highly valued position provides the Investments, Marketing/Client Service, Portfolio Management and Asset Management departments’ research, valued both for its unique insights and practical application.

* Conduct research on special and recurring topics in support of the firm’s investment, capital raising, portfolio management and asset management activities * Create and maintain standardized Excel based slide decks generating key data outputs and high-impact graphs used to inform investment decisions and the “House View” * Assist with preparation of client deliverables and presentations, including quarterly economic/market commentaries and special research topics. * Maintain all databases used in development and presentation of the firm’s macroeconomic, capital market and property market “House View,” * Train employees on the use of third-party economic and real estate market data tools. * Summarize the views and determine the investment implications of third-party presentations on macroeconomic, capital and market and property fundamentals

**Experience:** * Minimum three years prior commercial real estate research experience **Data Providers:** * Proficiency in the use of CoStar, NCREIF, Real Capital Analytics, and Axiometrics **Education:** * Undergraduate or graduate business degree in real estate or economics
