Summary
This role will lead both product and engineering effort for Alexa’s offering in the task management space. As the Program Leader, you will own all aspects of the space; you will define product vision, software architecture, product roadmap and execution plans. You will hire and manage a small cross functional team focused on moving fast. We believe smaller teams have better focus, inspire individual ownership, and reduce coordination efforts. As the team leader it will be your job to make sure we deliver quickly but also build solutions that are forward looking and can scale with limited re-engineering.
Responsibilities
* Develop program vision and product roadmap * Lead delivery of a complex, cross-functional, customer facing program. * Lead teams of software engineers and product managers in the design, development, test, deployment and operation of the household organization capabilities of Alexa. * Hire and develop team members. Grow your team by hiring smart and motivated engineers and product people. Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. * Gain consensus on product and technical decisions and ensure that appropriate software engineering practices are employed to deliver high quality results. * Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple groups with competing priorities * Represent your business and operations to the highest level of leadership within Amazon on a weekly basis.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field * MBA preferred * A first-hand working knowledge of current web technologies and service-oriented architecture. * A demonstrated ability to get technical product solutions up and running in record time. Ability to define scope, prioritize, and solve problems creatively and practically. * Ability to communicate ideas effectively, listen to others’ ideas, and collaborate * Demonstrated experience building relationships with stakeholders **Basic Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree * 5+ years of product management for a consumer facing software product, preferably in an online environment with transactional customer interactions. * 3+ years of experience of working and directing a technical software team
