Summary
The candidate will focus on maximizing the business value of IT investment, ensuring strategic alignment at the East Hanover/Princeton Site in alignment with Divisional, Country or Global imperatives. The Account Manager creates and directs the business relationship at the East Hanover/Princeton site, providing strategic guidance by developing integrated business and technology roadmaps that achieve business objectives aligned with Novartis strategy. The Account Manager acts as focal point for all site related IT needs, partnering to both understand and anticipate strategic, market, technology trends and/or operational needs, and to translate those elements into effective or improved solutions. The Account Manager will partner closely with Function IT Business partners by coordinating resources from within the respective Function or across the IT organization in general.
Responsibilities
* Provide input for the creation of the yearly site-specific strategic or long term plans to deliver effective IT capabilities and realize planning aligned with technology planning and roadmaps. * Provide input for the creation of IT planning (business capabilities, release planning, and technology roadmaps) appropriated to site needs. Monitor and support their implementation through the regional project portfolio. * Manage business demand and support prioritization in coordination with domains/functions for the Business Unit * Manage deployment for global projects in the business unit * Define and agree regional and country level budgets; providing recommendations on desired policies and goals; and implement new/ revised programs according to established guidelines. * Drive application life-cycle management in the Business Unit to ensure application rationalization and platform consolidation * Oversee total IT service offering for the specific unit –bridge gaps between different domains / functions * Align IT investments with business priorities and engage/handoff to appropriate IT Function as applicable. * Ensure solid solution concepts and business cases exist for new investments * Manage portfolio of site based projects/priorities, phase-in/ phase-out plans, and proactively anticipate gaps and overlaps with overall portfolio * Act as single point of contact for the Business Unit * Identify and engage key stakeholders proactively; drive solid relationships * Engage and drive shared vision with Function IT teams to facilitate decision making and arbitration relating to trade-offs both within and between different solution platforms. * Drive actively and create consensus across functions for solutions life cycle management. * Ensure continuous improvement, rationalization and management of existing Business and Country IT systems and operations. * Ensure proper implementation of global standards, policies and systems platforms.
Ideal Candidate
* 4-year college degree in business/technical area or comparable education/experience. MBA a plus. * 10-15 years of business / IT experience with at least five years of leadership experience, developing and executing strategic plans in a and/ or project portfolios. * Demonstrated leaderships skills; > 10 years proven management experience in matrix organizations. * Strong communication, facilitation and communication skills. * Performance driven, problem solver and results oriented solid team player with ability to work in a matrix organization aligning it around shared objectives
