Director Software Engineering

CDK is looking for innovative Software Engineering Director to enhance and expand CDK's front office platform. You will have an opportunity to provide overall leadership of multiple development teams and accountability for their performance and productivity. Provide resource planning in the development organization and allocate those resources based on established priorities. Interface with upper management and other managers to facilitate work. Overall accountability for the quality and schedule of all development deliverables. Provide input to the strategic direction of product roadmap and ensure communication of roadmap to the team.

* Manage a group of developers to ensure timely delivery of all development deliverables to acceptable quality levels. * Work with product management and provide input to product roadmap; provide estimates for technical components. * Provide technical leadership and direction to the team; ensure development processes are followed. * Establish goals and performance measures for the team; conduct performance reviews, coach and mentor team members to meet strategic objectives.

* BS in Computer Science or similar degree * 12+ years experience in software development with a proven track record of management success and engineering excellence * Must have exp in a progressive SaaS and/or .Com environment * Proven ability to define and articulate vision, set goals, develop and execute strategies and measure results * Experience participating in cross department efforts by communicating and negotiating with multiple teams to accomplish goals * Experience directing software teams in an agile software development environment * Proven track record in building and managing product development teams both local and remote (including offshore) * Deep technical expertise within one or more sub-domains: object oriented design (OOA/D/P), test driven development (TDD), software architecture & patterns, messaging, performance optimization, big data, distributed computing, continuous delivery * Strong leadership with ability to motivate teams * Strong communication skills and ability to translate highly complex technical issues to executive and non-technical audience
