Summary
This position is responsible for providing strategic insights/direction to aid in the development of compelling brand strategies and communication platforms, as well as other existing and potential agency clients. Working closely with the agency’s account management and creative departments, the Director of Account Planning drives the development of a core brand idea into communications based on a synthesis of primary and secondary research, market and consumer/shopper data, and competitive analyses.
Responsibilities
* Curiosity about what makes people act and think the way they do; able to find meaningful insights about motivation especially in the area of shopping, as it relates to brand association and purchase behavior, whether it be in-home, out-of-home, on-line or at retail. * Detailed enough to examine a problem from different perspectives without losing sight of the big picture * Logical and analytical, yet capable of lateral thought * Pragmatic approach problem solving, viewing research as a means to an end; an ability to see alternate strategic routes for a given problem/category/brand * Ability to conceptualize and think strategically; ability to clearly identify problems; capable of looking at marketing communications and making a reasonable judgment on its intended effects * Intuitive about people, brands and marketing communications * Ability to visualize the meaning of numbers and generate hypotheses, or draw conclusions; an eclectic user of information, with a desire to draw on all sources rather than just the most recent * Presentation skills; ability to argue a point-of-view coherently and concisely; not afraid of big or senior audiences; quick thinker; able to speak authoritatively, without seeming dogmatic or inflexible * Must be able to deal with pressure and unpredictable circumstances; not erritorial
Ideal Candidate
* 10+ years of pharma marketing strategy experience, with at least 5 years of account planning experience
