Summary
Assistant Buyers will drive successful business through strategic partnerships and strong analytical skills. They will represent and share the details and successes of zulily with potential partners. They will negotiate and build compelling product assortments. Our ideal Assistant Buyer is ambitious in nature, detail oriented, comfortable working in cross-functional teams, and passionate about the retail industry. They are organized and adept at time management skills.
Responsibilities
* Support the Buyer in the product selection that sets us apart from all competition * Establish and maintain vendor relationships * Assist in negotiating buying terms with vendors (price, quantity, delivery/ payment terms) * May assist in sourcing new leads as well as leads provided by the buyer * Deliver creative assets from the brand to the Creative Team in a timely manner (images, press kits, reel assets, samples for photo shoots) * Keep abreast of industry trends, new products, and competition * QA site to ensure all content associated with the event is 100% accurate and compliant prior to it going live with internal and external vendors * Ability to remain flexible and willing to change strategies as business needs dictate * Responsible for Data Entry pertaining to relevant needs of the business * May be responsible for contacting vendor and obtaining all creative needs including: * Hi-res images or Samples * Logo * Size Chart * Lifestyle image for possible Home Page use * Style numbers/names * Content/care instructions * Inventory quantity by style and size * Product dimensions/weight * Costing information * Load accurate information into zukeeper * Set up vendor in vendor portal * May need to send link to vendor prior to live event * Confirm final inventory prior to event * Ability to remain flexible and willing to change strategies as business needs dictate
Ideal Candidate
* 1-3 years of retail or relevant sales experience. * Retail Management experience preferred. * Experience in a buying office a plus. * College Degree or equivalent work experience * Demonstrated understanding of merchandising * Experience in eCommerce preferred * Experience in analyzing reports and drawing conclusions/ recommendations * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel * Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
