Summary
Zoosk's Operations team is looking to add a Network Engineer to our growing organization. You would be a key member of the team that keeps Zoosk running and serving over 40 million active members in 80 countries. You should have a focus on Network scaling, and be excited about managing an expanding, dynamic environment and plan scaling, availability, and response times for Zoosk's production network. We maintain a balance of self-hosted and cloud-based solutions.
Responsibilities
As a member of the team, you have a direct impact on design and feature enhancements to keep our Network infrastructure running smoothly. You also ensure that network production designs are safe and efficient by monitoring network performance, coordinating planned maintenance, adjusting hardware components and responding to network connectivity issues. * Plan, configure, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and tune network infrastructure, such as routers, switches, firewall systems, load balancers, virtual private networks, and network security devices. * Work with other team members and engineering teams to identify and develop scalable network designs (SRX, IPSec, BGP, etc.), solutions, and policy recommendations. * Deploy and maintain access-list and firewall policies for high-throughput environments. Support and lead implementation of Zoosk’s growing network infrastructure requirements. * Define network security best practice policies. Design and implement firewall, VPN, and IDP solutions for data center environments. * Build and support network log aggregation infrastructure and support incident response initiatives. Design and develop tools for detection of malicious network activity. * Provide 24/7 on-call network and security operational support on a rotational basis. * Certifications (CCNA, JNCIA-CCIE, or JNCIE) preferred. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence others with network engineering solutions.
Ideal Candidate
* Substantial operational experience with enterprise/carrier-class routers and switches. * Experience with Cisco and/or Juniper equipment. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPSec, PPP, VRRP, HSRP, and SNMP protocols. Knowledge of cloud integration a plus. * Skilled in network routing protocol troubleshooting in BGP and OSPF. * Ability to run periodic network vulnerability scans and security reviews. * 5 years experience in network engineering or design roles with a service provider or internet-based business.
