This is a networking focused position, but also requires a jack-of-all-trades IT generalist who can handle different technology challenges.

Ideal Candidate

You’ll know Ethernet, wireless, TCP/IP, firewall/security methodologies, and VPNs * Hands on experience with routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP * Proven experience designing, deploying and maintaining networks in a mixed OS, virtual and physical environment (VMWare, Windows, Linux) * Familiarity with networking hardware from multiple vendors (Cisco, Juniper, and/or Brocade) * Demonstrated use of common network troubleshooting tools (wireshark, tcpdump) and an evidence-based approach to solving problems * Proficiency in a programming language like Python * Success with monitoring and logging solutions such as Solarwinds, Nagios, Cacti, syslog, SNMP and Windows event log * Ability to deliver on multiple projects and tasks, taking ideas from concept to reality while communicating regularly on your progress * Willingness to create high-quality documentation that other sysadmins can follow * History of staying current on system and network security trends * Outstanding customer service and interaction skills, both verbal and written * Work well as part of a team in a fun, fast-paced environment * Revision control systems like Perforce or Git * Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Crowd) * Hosting services on Amazon, Rackspace, or other cloud provider. * Automation systems (Puppet, Chef, Microsoft SCCM)
