Designs, installs and configures network/security infrastructure and the NMS/monitoring tools; including the core network switches, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IPS), proxy servers, VPN concentrators, configuration management, and network performance management.
* Provide implementation, configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting activities for network hardware and management platforms. * Resolve highly complex networking issues over multiple hardware and software environments in an expedient manner. * Coordinate and perform network router, switch, and wireless access point installs, adds, moves, and changes in accordance with user timing and needs and to minimize impact on users resulting from maintenance activities. * Recommend and implement improvements to the existing architecture of the network that will improve network reliability and data throughput. * Provide network engineering, design and project implementation guidance and support which includes corporate, store and partner networks. * Produce reports and documentation on the existing network configuration as required. * Participate in 7x24x365 on-call operations for network infrastructure.
Ideal Candidate
* Education: High School + Equiv Exp or Bach/4 Year Degree * Experience: 5 years, Network, telecommunications and Network Security * 5+ years of detailed knowledge and experience with complex network and security design for large enterprise environments. * 5+ years of TCP/IP network administration experience. * Specific technologies include Cisco and Juniper switches and routers, Juniper/Net screen security solutions, and wireless infrastructure. * 5+ years of experience administering BGP an OSPF routing protocols. * 7+ years of security infrastructure support including firewall configuration and deep packet inspection and IPSEC VPN's. * 5+ years of experience performing in depth network, system and application performance troubleshooting and protocol analysis. * 5+ years of experience working in a large enterprise (Fortune 1000) environment. * Previous experience working for a large retailer is a plus.
