Summary

In this role, you will be focused on the development of “future growth engines” as part of our product incubator business unit. You will work in small cross-functional teams (market, clinical, technical) to identify and explore significant market opportunities where Gore can bring substantial value. Within your teams, you will bring external perspective into front end innovation and coordinate comprehensive market assessments to support prioritization and decision making. You will also work across businesses in concert with strategic marketers to ensure consistent application of contemporary marketing disciplines. This is a critical role for the Medical Products Division at Gore as we execute on our innovation strategy to drive profitable growth in the context of a changing healthcare environment. Responsibilities
- Integrating marketing disciplines with external focus to advance the business’ objectives - Leveraging marketing skills to develop insights into the customer’s activity cycle, critical purchase criteria, segmentation, targeting and competitive positioning - Exercising discipline to understand, monitor and capitalize on the market landscape, market lifecycles, value chain, threats and opportunities - Initiating select market research, analyze output and work with cross functional teams to implement actions based on results - Developing and validate product (and portfolio) value proposition, compelling evidence and messaging for specific products in the development pipeline in partnership with product teams - Establishing market access plans in coordination with cross-functional teams to overcome barriers to entry - Identifying and anticipating attractive market opportunities - Uncovering and articulating unmet market needs - Assessing Gore’s potential for sustainable competitive advantage - Working with Strategic Marketers across the division and enterprise to hone skills, share best practices, and collectively demonstrate the impact of integrating marketing disciplines with external focus
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years’ equivalent experience - A minimum of 7 years’ experience in marketing or business development in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries - Proven success in marketing or business development in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries - Demonstrated ability to conduct market assessments - Demonstrated experience in developing strategic plans to capitalize on emerging or new markets - Demonstrated ability to influence and integrate individuals and teams to execute against strategic plans - Strong analytic and interpersonal skills - Ability to travel overnight (up to 40%) - Preferred: MBA or advanced degree
